I am a professor of human-computer interaction at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and I am fascinated by the complex, idiosyncratic and unintentional interactions between people and digital technology. My work is shaped by the Scandinavian tradition of participatory design, which recognizes that those who will be affected by a future technology should have an active say in its development. I am a member of the management committee of the human-computer interaction department and spokesman for the Fachgruppe Partizipation in the Society for Computer Science. Before my academic career, I taught typography, traveled reasonably far, and took local delicacies a little too seriously.
