“Hey Siri, are machines prejudiced?” KI & Wir* Convention 2020

Science fiction, pop culture, Silicon Valley – we stumble upon artificial intelligence everywhere. But what actually is AI? Can Siri usurp world domination? And can machines have prejudices? To answer these questions, researched Natalie Sontopski in her lecture critically the connection between artificial intelligence and (old) stereotypes and explores how an allegedly objective and neutral technology reproduces, for example, stereotypes about gender or skin color.
