Unesco director calls for gender-neutral language assistants

Voice assistants such as Siri, Alexa and Co. have predominantly female voices by default. This could have a significant impact on the image of women among its users, fears Unesco Equal Opportunities Director Saniye Gülser Corat – and therefore called for the voices of assistants to be de-gendered at the Web Summit 2019 in Lisbon.
