Francesca Schmidt
Francesca Schmidt studied German studies, German linguistics and society, history and politics in South Asia in Heidelberg and Berlin and completed her thesis on the culture of remembrance in Marlene Haushofer’s prose.
At the Gunda Werner Institute for Feminism and Gender Democracy, Francesca Schmidt is a consultant for feminist internet politics. She deals with questions of digital violence, surveillance and control, algorithms, artificial intelligence and their socio-normative implications.
Your book “Netzpolitik. A Feminist Introduction “was published in 2020 by Barbara Budrich Verlag.
She is a founding member and board member of Netzforma * eV – Association for Feminist Net Politics. She is also a member of the board at FFBIZ eV.
Among other things, she worked on the subject of “Queer feminist media production using the example of the slutwalks” and set up a digital archive for the University of Siegen.
