Expert group presents ethical guidelines for artificial intelligence

An independent expert group appointed by the EU Commission of 52 representatives from business, science, ethics, consumer and civil rights organizations has presented ethical guidelines for the development of trustworthy artificial intelligence, which include a total of 33 requirements. The guidelines are intended to support a human-centered approach to AI.

“The new recommendations put forward by the experts are an essential part of our ongoing joint work with EU Member States to ensure the development of trustworthy AI such as the use of breakthrough technologies that respect privacy, create transparency and prevent discrimination,” summarizes EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, responsible for the digital economy and society, together.
